Li has been published by major Canadian media including the Globe and Mail, CBC.ca, The Star, The Walrus and Toronto Life. During her decade plus as a “world music” journalist Li interviewed some of the finest musicians including Youssou N’Dour, Ry Cooder, Odetta and Angelique Kidjo. Her passion for music is matched by her passion for horses and is reflected in her work for music and equestrian publications.

Communications

Li specializes in website copy for the education, tourism and cultural sectors. Clients have included Trent University, Queen’s University, Elentra Corp., Ontario Culture Days, The Bloor Street Culture Corridor and the Canadian Media Producers Association. She was director of communications for the Writers Guild of Canada from 2013-18, creating a wide range of internal and external communications.

CBC Producer

Li wrote and produced radio stories for Canadian Broadcasting Corporation programs including “As It Happens,” “The Arts Tonight” and “Q.” As well, she created the network music program “Roots & Wings.” She honed her web writing and editing skills working for CBC.ca’s music website.
